Gemba Engineering is based on the Japanese monozukuri (“making things”) principle. The Japanese economic miracle of the post-war period had its origin in this principle of national pride. The results and achievements of Japanese companies practicing monozukuri have always enriched and inspired Western companies - starting with logistics (just in time), through production (the kaizen principle, i.e. the improvement of a processes with small steps) to employee management (Working in small teams under the leadership of a "primus inter pares", the so-called Hancho)
The philosophy of concentrating on the most important factor for success – the “human”, who, in contrast to the other two factors “material” and “machine”, can communicate, learn, think and improve, is the core of the Monozukuri philosophy.
An illusion of industrial manufacturing is that we can achieve a state of fully automated production of perfect products. In work-sharing environments with numerous interfaces and large amounts of data, this becomes increasingly complicated, and the numerous attempts at complete automation do not remedy the situation.
This also means that the worker should be able to think about their work and be able to exchange ideas about it, and that they should be able to improve his work processes for the better.
In order to synchronize the production processes, people have to be given special consideration, because they are supposed to improve the machine and material. Visual management is crucial to do it in an effective way:
Storage locations, cleanliness, minimum and maximum stock levels, Andon, Kanban, quantity management, multiple qualifications, working standards etc. - a deviation must be immediately recognizable everywhere. The standards for people should record the "activity" so that if there is a deviation from the desired result, it can be analyzed, learned from and communicated.
Vision and mission of Gemba Engineering Toolbox
Our Mission: is to be the comprehensive provider of all visual management tools for employees who carry out process improvement workshops or introduce new standards.
Based on our vision and mission described above, Gemba Engineering Toolbox sees itself as a full-service provider for Kaizen teams, providing all the tools required for the Continuous Improvement Process for workshops and shop floor optimizations.
In Gemba Engineering, all employees should be encouraged to contribute their knowledge for the benefit of the company and to continually make improvements themselves.
The craftsman knowledge of all employees, which is at the core of the unique character of the company, becomes more transparent when applying the Gemba Engineering Toolbox. As a result, implicit knowledge will become communicable and scallable, creating a competitive advantage for the company.
With the Gemba Engineering Toolbox we help to eliminate the greatest waste of resources, wasting the knowledge of employees.
